Club News

A message from Christina for you all:

Hi!As Easter 2019 is now a thing of the past (which means summer is well and truly on the way!) we thought it might be a good idea

to let you know what’s going on at the club over the next few weeks.

So, dipping into May:

Saturday 4 May ~ Dinner + Cabaret with Jackie King. 7 – 7.30. Tickets are £21-50p.

Menu: Home-made Steak and Ale Pie, served with seasonal vegetables.

To follow there’s a choice of 2 Desserts, Cheese + Biscuits, Coffee and Mints.

Music will start at 9.15 and wind up at 11.45. At 10.45 there’ll be a raffle.

There’s a list on the board re bookings for this.

Bank Holiday Monday, 6 May ~ Club closed.

Thursday 9 May ~ Back Bar closed thru lunch time re a private booking.

Also on 9 May ~ Hollies Investment Club meeting followed by dinner in the Back Bar. The meeting, which lasts for one hour, starts at 6.45pm and dinner is served at 8pm.

You don’t have to be a member of the Investment Club to partake of dinner!

Menu: Chicken Katsu Curry served with white rice and followed by Fresh Lemon Tart. (All for just £15-50p).

Friday 10 May ~ The Green Room will be closed from 7-9 pm re a private party

But this isn’t all that goes on at the club ~ there’s Bridge on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday afternoons. (Have a word with Vic Collier if you fancy joining the Tuesday Group.)

Friday nights are still great fun. Folk tend to turn up around 8.15/8.30 in readiness for the  Club Draw which takes place spot-on at 9.30. The prize last Friday was £280 but the ‘owner’

of the number wasn’t there so the prize pot goes forward! If your number is drawn and you’re in the club at that time then the prize pot will be added to your bar card.

There’s also a Cribbage Team who are now in the Epsom League, playing Home and Away Matches. Contact Glynn Dallen to find out more.

There’s a very active Darts team too ….I’ll get details of when they play next from Roger Hicks for the next update.

If you’re planning on calling into the club for lunch this week, Danielle has some lighter bites on offer: Classic Prawn Cocktail, a Cheese and Charcuterie board and a Brioche Bacon Roll.

These are available alongside all the regular club favourites; Grilled Sandwiches, Omelettes, Butchers Gammon, Egg and Chips, Scampi, and the popular ‘Epsom Club Sandwich’.

Lunches are served between 12 and 2.30.

Well I think that does it for now.

PS If you want to book onto an event but can’t get into the club in time then let me know and I’ll do it for you as I live very close by.
